I remember once on here that they broke the window when a baby was locked in a car.

some differences I imagine

looks like the parents are there and immediately called it in once they realized they had locked the keys & baby in the car... so they're going to try to minimize the damage (ETA: unlike when the parents are nowhere to be found and no one knows how long they've been gone)

the child is probably not showing any immediate signs of distress at the moment

That's what they did once when temps were around 100 outside the car. The cop had to get her permission to break the window.

The one I remember was the same scenario as this, but with just the mom there. It was really hot, and they had tried for a few minutes to get it opened. She told him to go ahead and break the window.
