it shouldn't

they usually don't drop it mid week unless they are really stacking up

wholesalers I mean

usually the crawfish they buy on say wednesday they sell to restaurants on thursday. If price drops thursday then they'll lose money on the stuff they bought wednesday. Price will normally change monday morning when coolers are empty

How am I able to get crawfish for $2.99 / lb in Austin and it's $3.50 lb in BR??? Granted, these are from Fiesta, but still, that doesn't make sense.

for those interested:

Charles Seafood is the restaurant with 3.79 for boiled

A.B seafood has live for 2.89

Everywhere I've talked to in NO is at 3.25/lbs and up. I'm new at boiling though and don't really know the best places to call. Would love to know the place in Harahan that has them at 2.89

chain grocery stores like that will use live crawfish as loss leaders. They'll make it up on seasoning, corn, potatoes, beer, etc

HEB in Houston had to put a limit on amount you could buy because restaurants were coming in and buying 50 sacks at a time
