i'm thinking about going in June
I wouldn't. It will be hot and crowded. And the wait times will be ridiculous.

I don't like traveling football season because I have season tickets and I'm busier at work during the winter.
Go in the spring, but avoid around Easter and Spring Break. Mardi Gras is a good time to go, as long as it doesn't coincide with President's Day.
We went Halloween 2014 and had a blast. Though I did miss the Ole Miss game.

frick that...all the parks already feel like that with the all the foreigners going there now....if disney was smart, they would just open one up in south america and be done with it.the amount of non english speaking rude people with there little flags cutting lines was enough for me to boycott them for a while.
So true. Had several removed from the park by a cast member. Cutting in line with 10 or so in tow is not cool. Four different trips had this done. Just keep your cool and report to any cast member.

Maelstorm is gone,
Yet they kept that shitty Mexico ride
Norway is getting a Frozen ride. Which makes no sense to me, though I guess Donald Duck is in the Mexico ride so there is that.

I don't get this. First, it's always crowded! How much so just depends on your definition of the word.
Most of the people commenting on the heat and humidity - it's the same as we have in all of the South. June - September is hot and humid. If someone is coming from other parts of the country, I could see them not being accustomed to it. I'd rather have the heat over the cold any day. That's why they have so many water rides and pools.
With just a little planning most wait times are very manageable. We go to the parks early and can do everything that we want by early lunch. I understand that some people might not like waking early on vacation, but it's much better than standing on line for and hour for a 3 minute ride. I once felt bad for the people rolling into the parks at noon without a plan and then complaining about the crowds and waits. Not anymore - there's too much information out there to ever be frustrated because of poor / lack of planning.

It makes perfect sense. The movie is heavily influenced by Norway. The country no longer sponsors and subsidizes the pavilion and Maelstrom was never very popular. Disney will put in the new ride, add a ton of Frozen merch at the end and clean up. Plus they're expanding the pavilion to include a permanent meet and greet area for Ana and Elsa....with more gift shops I'm sure. This will be a big financial win for the park.
People used to complain and chastise Disney for not having a Little Mermaid ride in the parks. They finally put one in 20ish years later. Now, Disney jumps on the popularity of a movie - which isn't fading - and people go apeshit. Epcot isn't the old Epcot anymore. It stopped being that a long time ago. As much as I don't care for it, it makes complete economic sense.

IDK it was easily the most popular ride in World Showcase.

Good. Disneyland and hollywood studios are white trash.

Maybe not in the entire park, but in W.S. it was the best available.
Aside from the margarita stand it was normally our first stop when W.S. opened

Agreed, but it is kind of sad that Epcot no longer seems to focus on it's original "educational" intent.

So the most popular out of 2 boat rides, one of which is tucked away in the back corner inside a pavilion that many people don't even know is there? C'mon. It was never that popular....and I LOVED Maelstrom.

True....but a Frozen attraction will be 10 times more popular...probably moreso.
quote:Absolutely. I really yearn for the days of "edutainment" that Epcot Center delivered. Spaceship Earth is still my favorite attraction in Epcot. I prefer the old World of Motion ride to Test Track and Horizons to Mission: Space. But to say that putting a Frozen attraction in Norway doesn't make any sense is ludicrous.

Epcot is the best pub crawl in Disney. My favorite park by far.

We're going back in October. We converted our tickets to APs a few weeks ago since we were heading back. I'm still hoping to convince the wife to take another trip....even if it's just a 3-day weekend without the kids....some time during the year.
