I like Wayne, but since when was it a requirement or tradition for the host city to have their own origin artists perform?

When Atlanta hosted the SB in 2019, Maroon 5 headlined but they brought out Outkast. Kendrick may do the same and bring out Wayne

From a business perspective, Kendrick is the bigger artist right now as well.

I’m glad that I have no idea who any of these people are.

Not happening after the Kendrick / Drake beef. Wayne rides on the other side.

This is what matters. They want viewers that normally wouldn’t watch the game. Lamar has a massive hit and Wayne does not. Simple as that.

They had a bunch of washed up California rappers at the Super Bowl in California a year or two ago and all the suburban white women loved it

Lil Wayne should definitely performing

If we are being honest here, when it was in LA they did a whole LA theme with Dr Dre who is from the L.A. area in which Kendrick Lamar was part of, who is from the same area as Dr Dre.

So with it being in New Orleans you have to imagine if they are going to allow any city to do a theme of itself, it would be New Orleans... from a music perspective. And I saw Juvenile post a video saying how lil Wayne would have not just made it all rap, he was playing on incorporating other genres of artist from New Orleans which I think would have been pretty cool to see.

But ever since Jay Z was put in the position of being in charge of the HT show he only gets people he has some type of connection to. frick him and his wife's country album was shite.

You have... a top 5 ever rap artist who is saying "I would love the opportunity to do this" at a time when a lot of artist has turned down doing the superbowl HT show and you bring in a dude who is pretty good, but probably isn't know by people who don't listen to hip hop. I would say that people who don't listen to it has likely heard of lil wayne before Kendrick Lamar.

Lil Wayne should put together a superbowl HT show like event and stream it on youtube during the HT show.

he better at least get a decent feature. no reason he shouldn't be there if the halftime show is going to be his music genre. like it's not like they're doing folk music and leaving him out.

Oh no a Packers and Lakers fan that hasn't lived in New Orleans in many years (not that I blame him) isn't going to perform at the Super Bowl

Yeah that's true. Honestly, they could have picked Big Freeda or whatever that tranny's name is and I wouldn't care because I don't really care about the SB HT show, but I was just trying to look at it with some logic.

Not sure why I clicked on this thread, but it slightly amuses me that I don't understand about 85% of what has been posted.

You are right, except for that. Generally they hadn't done too much of that in years though.

Do any of his best songs not have the N word a bunch of times? Sponsors prolly didn’t want to hear that word 100 times before their ad came on.
