Well now in doubtful if this is even a legit story. I thought there had been independent seismic verification but now it looks like that's not the case. Sounds like this was at best a tactical a-bomb sized detonation which is a far cry from a thermonuclear one. If the numbers in Rebloke's link are correct, there's no way they have the h-bomb.

They arent even sure if they did. All they have to go off is seismic...I guess they can measure atmospheric contaminants when they get carried off by wind.

Yeah, I just realized that I'm going off of a quote from their state news agency. That was pretty bad.
However, I still stand by my belief that they wouldn't use it offensively.

Actually seismic measurements are quite accurate at determining the type of detonation done in a test. A H-bomb detonation has a very specific signature that's different from that of an A-bomb. And from the report on Fox regarding this test, it was not an H-bomb. It looks to have been an A-bomb.
