I wasn't raised to ask for a handout. Now i find myself watching my father who has lost his health, job, and now his home. I became a tiger fan in this house. If anyone could share this link or spare a buck to help out it would be a huge help.

I’m very sorry to hear this. I wish your dad the best and hope he gets what he needs.

Looks like a pretty big house to not have insurance. If he couldn’t afford insurance he should have sold it. Needing help is one thing, living beyond your means even when tragedy strikes is another.

Sounds kinda judgmental to me. You know very little about their circumstances. Lots of older folks pay off mortgages and drop insurance to help with living expenses. I’m not saying it’s wise, but it’s pretty common.

This is the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard. I’m almost mad for just reading this.

I have a friend who’s dad surprised him the week after Laura by telling him that he dad dropped his insurance after paying off the house. He had 4 pine trees sitting on his roof whenever the son offered to call the insurance company for him... I’ve heard several other similar examples.

Pretty heartless. Probably best to keep that stuff to yourself. Hindsight is always 20/20.
