I feel like prison for a retard thug isnt the worst kind of existence imaginable. They can frick around and make friends in there and have an existence that's not so psychologically straining. Hell, they can make friends that have similar dispositions to them and even run little gangs that offer them more power and prestige than they ever could have had on the outside.
But if you are a normal, intelligent, civilized person, being put in that environment around animalistic mentally deranded retards, you are going to have an absolutely miserable existence that is going to cause you psychological distress on top of your exposure to violent victimization. The particular demographics of the prison probably will have a major impact on the degree. Being imprisoned in North Dakota or something is probably a lot less horrible an experience for normal folk than, say, Atlanta.

I'm highly suspicious of anybody who says prison isn't godawful.
PS even Club Feds are pretty darn awful, if you read actual accounts of people who have been imprisoned in them. And you don't go to Club Fed for murder.
