Licking your fingers to turn a page, open plastic bags etc

At work, I’m often asked by one of our project guys to review specification plans with him. I guess he’s a little unsure technically or whatever and he’s more of a sales guy. Anyway, last week, I finally couldn’t take the fact that he licked his fingers multiple times while turning each page. He’s had a cold lately and he was coughing. He was pretty offended when I told him he was on his own and why but it felt good to set him straight and air my grievance.
There is a restaurant here in Birmingham on the Southside where I’ve gone to pickup lunch at least 1 x a week for several years. But lately the old lady at the counter licks her fingers to open the plastic bag for my to-go items and then to count out my change.
I’m no extreme germ freak but I just don’t think I cannot NOT say anything next time I go. Should I quit while I’m ahead or nicely tell her that she’s a public health risk and the dollar bills she’s just touched could have been covered with anything from the Corona Virus to the dried fecal matter from a strippers thong?

I agree. It should be unacceptable to lick your fingers and interact with the world without washing your hands first. Sometimes the plastic bags kinda requires it though but at least people aren't getting your plastic bags with lick all over them.

edit: dangit somebody beat me to it.

I lick the page and use my fingers to turn it.

I went to a show last week, and the door guy going into the theater was passing out the handbills. I saw him lick his fingers before he handed the person in front of me one. I declined to take it. It is just gross!

Back in the paper chart days one of the surgeons would constantly lick his thumb to turn the pages, checking lab work, etc.Grossed me out.
My mother read a lot,she used to buy these bottles of tacky stuff to help her turn the pages, dip her thumb in it every so often.I Don’t remember what it was called.
You’re right,it’s nasty.

People who lick their fingers before turning pages deserve death and then a sentence to hell. Straight up.

Had a buddy that owned a convienence store. For about the first year he licked his fingers when counting money. He started having the trotts multiple times a day, gas, bloating,etc.... this went on for months because he wouldn't go to the doctor. When he finally went and they figured out he had parasites they asked him if he licked his fingers when counting money.

Sometimes people aren’t a germ conscious as they should be. Pages can be hell to turn, I use some stuff that makes my fingers tacky to turn pages, it’s probably loaded with germs too though.

I moisten my fingers in my a-hole before counting money or turning pages.

What, specifically, does licking your fingers do to help you open a plastic bag?

Sometimes those mofos are stuck together and won't separate so you can put your stuff in there. My fingers cant grip them enough. I've encountered this at the self-checkout area.

Money is disgusting. Especially coins. That shite travels through the crevices of every trashy person's purse, pockets, car, couch, etc.
