Pretty sure if you go from public to private you're eligible right away

You are automatically eligible in 9th grade at whatever school you enter. Don't send him to BR High. Enroll where you want him to play. End of story--as long as you live in the district.

It's not a hardship though. You knew BR High didn't have baseball when he will enroll. It would be different if they had baseball and discontinued it. He can't go to BRMHS and play baseball in HS

You are correct. They changed it since I went there. But trust me, I highly doubt they would allow it as part of being a student there is NOT playing the three major sports. Going in on day one trying to change their curriculum is a bad idea IMO. It's been this way since the mid 1970s.

Not to sound like a jerk, but why did you even let him apply to the school if he wanted to play baseball?

Exactly. It's just that simple.

He wants to go to BR High. First and foremost. He is willing to sacrifice baseball. He is a decent player and would likely start at Catcher in his sophomore year where he is at. He wouldn't sniff the field at a school like Catholic though. We realize that. Just running some traps to see if there is any way to play ball somewhere. If not, so be it.

He can't go to BR High and play baseball at another high school, public or private. Whatever school he enrolls in as a 9th grader is "school of 1st choice". Any enrollment at another school after that will result in sitting out a year, public or private. UNLESS, there is a bonafide move by the parents or one of the parents due to divorce, death of parent, etc.

I don't care if he has to sit out freshman year. He could still practice and play on JV team. After being ineligible in 9th grade could he play at another high school in 10th grade?

No. If he goes to BRMHS, he can't play baseball at another school unless he transfers to the other school

They simply do not play the 3 major sports. Probably figure they couldn't put a decent team on the field.

In many cases you can transfer from one school to another when the current school does not offer a sport or class.
This is the wrong place to ask though

Your first call should probably be to the AD and principal of the school that your son would be playing at to get their opinion. The LHSAA is a principals organization so all requests to them must come from a principal. We won an appeal last year which allowed my son to play baseball and it was not easy. We made a request and his eligibility was denied , we appealed and that was denied and we then requested a hardship hearing. The hearing is just that you show up at LHSAA and are sworn in you state your case to a panel of principals they ask questions and then vote , majority wins and it's finished. Good luck

My son went to BR High ... he played football with C.H.E.F. Patriots

You might want to check them out.
