Why do people always assume racism? KSLA here in Shreveport left out a huge part of the story that he girl was infact arrested before Levar Allen. She is a minor and and because of that her name and info cannot be released. Also, Levar provided this girl the phone and was sending nude pictures of himself to other girls and was arrested again on Fri. The news left this part of the story out despite local law enforcement calling the station manager and making them aware of the full story.

So the parents found out and called the cops, in turn having their own daughter arrested? Hahahaha I almost hope she gets labeled a sex offender just to spite her garbage parents. Probably a couple hicks who "know their rights" and didn't think their daughter would get charged as well. Or they did it because they did know which makes them equally as garbage.

not so fast since you don't know the motivation behind it.
this 17 on 16 or 18 on 16 year old thing has been going on for decades. That's why every senior who has a young girlfriend needs to be careful. It's freaked up I know.
I graduated in the 80's and there were two separate situations where the 18 year old was charged. Yes, both charged. All parties involved were white. The bottom line is you must be careful with this regardless of your race.
Everyone is just so quick to turn this into a race thing.

Because it's a race thing and southern white people are so insecure about it that they just scream as loud as they can that racism isn't a problem.

Was it against the law? yes. Then why is it a "race thing". Hundreds of dumb arse white boys get charged each year for this same thing but it does not make the news because that will not sell like this situation will. The media loves this. It sells.

I have personally talked with several parents who had their children arrested. One lady caught her son smoking weed and took his car away for 6 months. Told him if he did it again, she would call the police.
A few weeks later, she smelled weed again and called the police. They searched his room and found 10 bags of weed ( no idea the amount in each). He was charged with possession and other things.
That is not a garbage parent. It's a parent trying to get their child under control.
Maybe this girl parents are similar. Maybe they are trash, but I don't assume it.

You don't see the difference in risking a felony count and lifetime sex offender label to a misdemeanor simple possession? I do...I also see where a parent might not want their kid ending up addicted to other drugs or stealing to feed a habit. But do you think having your child arrested for sending a nude photo is productive parenting? I would love to see that parent explain to their 16 yr old daughter why it was in her best interest to inform every future neighbor that she is a sex offender bc she had a boyfriend. These laws are heinous and even a person with the most basic sense of common sense could distinguish between this situation and why the law was created in the first place.

I don't know the whole story. What if she has done this three times before? What if the parents cancelled her phone plan because of it?
What if this guy bought her the phone and asked for the pics?
Then what they did is justified in my book.
If this was the first time for her? It's bad parenting. If it is a pattern, good job parents.
