I don't get commercials. I think about changing auto insurance once every 10 years.....maybe, but I see 900 commercials a day trying to influence that decision....eventually.
Also I see ads for dozens of prescriptions I could get, when in reality if I had any of those symptoms I'd be googling the ever living Shiite out of it and there would be nothing new those commercials could tell me.
But something that would be a total impulse buy, they never advertise...like Starbucks. Seeing a Starbucks double frickachino mint latte commercial at 2:30 PM on a Sunday when my baseball team is losing 7-3 might actually motivate me to go buy one right then and there, but that commercial doesn't exist...only 4 commercials yelling at me to get boner pills and switch auto insurance.

It was weird seeing her in a few episodes of You're the Worst.

Marketing seems to be working
I don’t subscribe to the notion that merely talking about something means the marketing is working. If we are shitting on the character how is that working? I would think an increase in customers would be the metric.

Better hope she's not going for the Mr. Whipple record.
Mr. George Whipple is a fictional supermarket manager featured in television commercials, radio, and print advertisements that ran in the United States and Canada from 1964 to 1985 for Charmin toilet paper.

Why does being inundated with Flo not make you think less of Progressive but seeing Gordon’s dumb arse makes you hate all PI attorneys?
Aren’t both just marketing a product/service?
