It was popular to say that pot was less harmful than alcohol, and there was some truth to that.

Umm, it very much is still less harmful than alcohol, and anyone who suggests otherwise doesn’t know what the hell they are talking about

Could you explain plz? Are you implying people who smoke pot are subscribing to 'group-think'?

It's been easy for America to dismiss some of the long term concerns about marijuana.

There are long-term consequences to alcohol as well.

I very much get different effects so that's why percentages mean nothing to me.

Except when buying dabs. I get the highest shite they got.

THIS is the reason we can't get it legalized. Stop spouting ridiculous crap about how it cures diseases and just say you want to smoke it.

Someone hasn't been paying attention.

We are where we are currently due to many many years of talking about medical marijuana and getting it legal.

The govt cheated us all by making it illegal so I'm ok with any means to get it legal.

Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are LSD and ecstasy.

Hence the big push to say MJ cures everything from hangnails to AIDS. Give it medicinal value, and it no longer can be Schedule I.

I can have a drink and barely feel the effects. Can you smoke a joint and say the same?

No one said this.

This is more like saying "I can take a puff of a joint and barely feel the effects. Can you drink 5 beers and say the same?"

You're just being disingenuous all over this thread.

Now you're not even making sense and further proving my point.

I don't even smoke pot. I do, however, agree it should be legal because the government shouldn't be in the business of selectively banning substances people want to use, and prohibition doesn't work.

Are you even capable of intelligent or rational discussion or do you just know which direction to turn your wrench?

Neither do laws for shoplifting, speeding, tax evasion etc. Should we make those acts legal too?

Those are laws for protecting people against other people, not laws telling you what you can and cannot consume
