Ran a 4:47 mile in my Junior year. Good enough for first in the meet but not in the district. My personal best. Reminds me of how bad of shape I’m in these days at age 45.

Trying to start back running after a bunch of years off. My goal is just to be able to run a sub 25 minute 5K and get in better shape.

Let's see. I threw a perfect game when I was 12 in 1995.

I grew up playing soccer. We used to play against a current MLS all-star from MS all the time. We usually split, sometimes my team would win and sometimes his would win. One game in particular, he was single-handedly dominating us and my coach put me at center mid at half time to match up with him. I had 2 goals and an assist in the second half and completely shut him down to the point he was cursing at his teammates. Too bad they were up 4-0 at halftime. We still lost but on that day I outplayed a dude who was in the MLS 6 years later.

Babe Ruth league all-stars in community baseball (long before travel ball got going). Down 3 runs in bottom of 9th inning. Can't remember how many outs. I hit a walk off grand slam.

They had a concession stand in the middle of all the fields and an intercom. They announced it to everyone playing at the other fields (softball, younger kid baseall, etc.) I barely slept that night after from the rush and my buddies saying how cool that moment was. I wish it was on video but this was before everybody's mom was a freelance photographer and brought cameras to games

Last week I had two lovely touches where I got the ball on the half-turn in the inside-left channel, and with the first touch of my left foot sent the ball across my body so I could turn to my left (towards the center of the field) and hit the ball on the volley with my right. It was very similar to this goal by Adebayor, except I didn't score either time.

I scored 4 td's in a single game against Andre Johnson High in the 1966 city championship game. We were down by three td's when coach put me in.

So that was just the first time? One of several times you faced a unicorn that is high school kids throwing 100. And you did it at 12.

Even today, when kids are getting training and techniques that have increased the number of people hitting 100, it's unbelievably rare in high school and still quite rare in college to truly hit 100. Low 90's I'd believe it. Kid at the local school near me is throwing 93ish. He'll likely be drafted high enough to skip college if he wants to. People love to overestimate pitch speeds.

Never said I faced several and didn’t mean to imply that.

The last game of season I told my high school baseball team that I wasn't going to play ball my Jr. year. Team was disappointed because I was a damn good 3rd baseman but I just didn't love the game anymore. Coach told me I wasn't hitting well enough anyway and would probably be replaced. What an arse!

Anyway, I followed that convo up with 2 homeruns and a 2 score RBI. What a way to go out! And F*ck Coach....son bi@tch always hated me after I dated his daughter in 9th grade.

Sophomore year of highschool I turned a double play to first off a line drive against Southern Lab. Don't remember how far off the bag he got but I nailed his arse by several steps. I was also coming down from some acid I took the night before.
