And doctor's bonuses are often based on Patient satisfaction surveys. Which further complicate the issue.

And I believe I heard this is coming to the clinic setting as well? Is this true?
Sort of an HCAPS for the clinics and offices?

Tell him i said he can go frick himself too! i think ALL doctors should have to have a semester of severe pain (kidney stone, untreated broken bone, endometriosis, etc) so that they can better empathize with their patients.
Maybe then they wouldn't give that BS line " You are not in pain, you are just experiencing a bit of discomfort". Discomfort, my arse!!! The word is fricking pain.
P.S. I get fired u thinking about people who are genuinely suffering but cant get relief because of fricking junkies who abuse the system.

Yeah. You would think they'd give you at least 20 norco.
You could have done what I think is an additional Waddell's sign, and claimed an allergy to NSAIDS and Tylenol.

What hospital is this? So I can make a mental note of never going to such a shitty facility. I had a complete fracture in my first, second, and a partial fracture in my third metatarsal and I was giving 15 Norco 7.5's. If they had handed me a script for Motrin I would've ended up with a 4th broken bone for drop kicking the doctor.

Doctors should really have no power in what a person takes only as a consultant. After that voluntary consultation an adult person should be able to go down to walmart and buy whatever they wish ( prescription drugs would get real cheap real fast) if we lose a few junkies so be it, freedom has downsides.

Depends on what healthcare system you're practicing in. Most large ones track patient satisfaction with surveys (like Press-Ganey). So if you tell an obvious pain seeking patient that you're going to send them to physical therapy and not give meds, it obviously hurts your scores.
This isn't the same as decreased reimbursement to the hospital/clinic (like a "quality measure"/readmission rate within 30 days for inpatient), i.e. Lowered Medicare reimbursement rates, which is What I think you are talking about.

I'll agree to that, provided those same people are forbidden from coming to the hospital for ODs, side effects, or drug-related accidents/traumas.

I'm ok with that for pain meds, but not antibiotics. And add the stipulation that you can't sue the pharmacists/doctors/clinic/hospital.

Even if they are admited, would it really be an increase in what it is now, the savings from lowered drug costs and the pain clinic scams would cover this.

I had the same problem, lumbar spinal stenosis, herniation at the L-4 L-5 vertebrae, arthritis etc. Suffered for 6 years from the shite. Did all the physical therapy, epidural steroid injections, radio frequency ablation therapy, over a 6 year period probably had at least 150 injections ranging from Dilaudid,Decudrone,Toridol, Noraflex, not to mention all the Vicodin and Percocet,Flexeril. This past March 16 I went to the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa Florida. Had a "hemilaminectomy" surgery performed by Dr Reginald Davis, going on the 7th week of recovery and I feel like a brand new man!

This is what I'm looking for. There are a few dr's in BR that perform the same procedure. I'd rather not travel too far because I have a 3 year old and a business to run but if I don't find someone around here to do it soon, I'll do what I have to. Can't live like this much longer.
