This might be a good idea but what about the children? Haven't you thought about the children? Who will protect my children??

Ithaca mayor is like 25 years old and turned his parking spot into a public park.

They celebrate Cuba friendship day

have a currency called "Ithaca hours" (for an hour of work you can redeem them at local businesses)

And a guy that was proposing a complete ban on economic trade with other cities got 13% of the mayoral vote the last election I lived there for

Vancouver

Vancouver is already doing this, the overall idea makes sense. People are going to shoot up no matter what. Why not send them to a place where they won't OD, and if they do there are already medical professionals, too? I know most of you are going to say "I don't want my tax money yada yada" Yeah, I don't either, but in the grand scheme of things this will cost literally NOTHING. It wont be taxed on the federal level, and if I had to imagine I doubt they'd tax LA citizens for a NY facility. Heroin is an epidemic in this nation right now. I believe the root problem was/is the overprescription of opioids by Dr's then the crackdown on scheduled drugs by the Federal Government. Basically caused dr's to change their minds and say "Yeah, I know I addicted you to this (insert opioid here. Oxy/methadone/hydro), but I'm gunna take it away from you now." Causing these addicts to go find an easy fix for withdrawals.

NOT that I am condoning heroin use, yes it's trashy, yes I am privileged enough to never know (openly atleast) anyone who has done heroin, but something has to be done, even if some of these things are experimental. I do know some people who have been to rehab for pain pills, and if it's worse than that I pray no one I know ever has to go through it.

BIG surprise; Seattle

BIG surprise here, Seattle is already a step ahead of Ithaca on this. Who would have ever thought? I don't think I will ever step foot in that city.
