I am assuming they will be turning the current right turn lanes into through/right tune lanes and the current travel lanes will become turn lanes.

Otherwise, this will be a fricking useless fix.

Interested to see how well this works. I hope everyone understands that the lanes will remain the same. The signals are all that is changing. I assume they will sequence it where northbound will have all green followed by southbound all green, with Lee and brightside unchanged. As opposed to simultaneous left turns northbound and southbound.

It will take longer to cycle to green in each direction, but conceptually there shouldn't be as much back up along Nicholson.

Yea.. I wouldn't assume that at all. It would shock me actually.

As usual with the advocate, its a poorly worded article. Lee & Brightside already have left turn signals, so it would have to mean nicholson is finally getting the turn signals.

They suck at this so bad. Every 3rd article I read either has a mistake or typo. Its ridiculous for a newspaper.

Long overdue. I can't say how many times I've almost been hit by dumbasses using the right hand turn lane to go around a stationary left-turner and through the intersection.

I saw an 18 wheeler using the right turn lane heading north on Nicholson Drive to get around a left-turner (turning onto Brightside). I honked with disapproval.

83% chance they do simultaneous left turns northbound and southbound, resulting in the same problem as today but in reverse. They'll try putting them in sequence in 2025 or so.

There's just no way they do this without left turn lanes like they have on lee and brightside.. It would result in complete standstill at the intersection.

So assuming all northbound and southbound movements get their own separate green time, it will be interesting to see how much time that is. I wonder if they will just split the current Nicholson green time in half equally. If they add more time for Nicholson to get through both directions, it could result in more back ups on lee/brightside.

My mind was blown by the Dalrymple roundabout last week. I never imagined BR would do something so forward thinking.

Well if those P*ssy-A**ed student drivers would grow a set of balls and turn without needing a 1/2 mile wide gap between cars, we wouldn't have to worry about that maneuver

You know how many times I have watched a car turning left at that intersection sit through an entire light and then when the light turns yellow, they fricking stay? If it goes yellow on you, wait until the cross traffic stops then CLEAR THE FRICK OUT OF THE INTERSECTION!!!

Just heard segment on news that while these are temporary changes, the permanent changes through green light project are slated to start next year. However, in looking at the green light project website, it looks like are still in the design phase and negotiating with the RR. Anyone have an update on this?
