It was the minivan, based on the K car, that really brought them back. The original K cars were real cheap pieces of shite that didn't compete well with other cars on the market, but the Caravan/minivan was unique to Chrysler for several years.

I couldn’t believe how many people bought those Dodge Aries things back in the day. Even in the 80’s Chrysler’s cars were hideous. The Le Baron, the Aries...even their trucks didn’t look as nice as the Fords or Chevys.
The minivan saved Chrysler back in the day. It was just as much as a revolution in the car industry as the muscle car and the SUV.
Lee was there for all three. A true American icon.

What's most amazing about this is that he beat the odds and didn't die long ago in one of the death traps that Chrysler cranked out.
