The car crash thing makes up how many actual cases though?

Probably more than your asthma hypothetical.

Right, thats why when the CDC said only 6% had no comorbidities you can't just take total deaths and multiple it by 6%. It's not that simple because some comorbidities you can easily live with.

Again...the 94% thing includes all COVID deaths that had another cause listed on the death certificate. Cardiac arrest is one of them. So is respiratory failure. All things that can be directly caused by the virus.

Someone could have no previous medical history whatsoever and get COVID and ultimately die cause their heart or lungs stopped. COVID AND cardiac arrest are listed on the death certificate and they become part of the 94%

I'd love to see how many cases fit this description. I likely can count them on one hand.

Also.....if you have a loved one that has cancer but was told they could live another 3-4 years with it. Then they get COVID and die. When they still had a few years of living ahead of them. You honestly gonna think that COVID had no part in their death?

I don't wish cancer or death on anyone but society cannot be shutdown for situations like this. It's an emotional argument that isn't applied to any other ailment or risk.

Meaning what? Do we test every resident that passes away? No. Do we assume a positive resident that passes is likely due to COVID-19? Yes. Do we get “more money” for positive COVID-19 tests? No. Do we get “more money” for COVID-19-related deaths? No.

meaning do hospitals report anyone that died with COVID as a COVID death as they are currently doing in nursing homes per LDH?

that was a very defensive answer to a genuine question

It wasn’t defensive at all. Answer was as genuine as the question. There are a lot of misconceptions cast as fact by people with no relevant experience on here. Just seeking to shed some of those misconceptions.

I know if doesn't matter since we are on page 3 and everyone has their pitchforks, but this statement has been on their website and releases for months now.

OP must have finally read something other than the headlines.

I’m still amazed at the amount of idiots that try to compare Cancer to Covid.

Which is all the more reason for people to be outraged. People have publicly denied this for months now as well

I don’t think things have to all be shutdown

You can still be for basic public health measures and to lessen the spread and not want things to shut back down again.

No one who has actually read any of the releases should be in the blind.

But everyobe has a brother's nephew's sister who got out of line then got a positive covid test. Same people who know for a fact that their sister's cousin's nephew had all 8 of his positive tests counted.

The truth is bad enough without idiots spouting off conspiracy rumors.

There are still idiots that use the TD speadsheet as their most official way for tracking.

What conspiracy here?

LDH is outright admitting ANY CAUSE OF DEATH WITH A POSTIVE RESULT COUNTS AS A COVID DEATH

You cant undermine how problematic that is when we are basing policy on these numbers

Well, I guess you can because here you are doing it

If I remember correctly, when the CDC posted the numbers cardiac and respiratory failure made up like 60% of the co-morbidities.
