Having been on the corporate side-- you have not talked with the right person,

Take purchase order and signed invoice in hand along with any subsequent demands for payment

Schedule a meeting with the Controller- be kind, polite and ask if there is an issue or oversight with the payment not being made.

DID you ship this COD? if so then the issue may well be with Fed Ex and not your customer- in this case Secure all paperwork from customer and march yourself down to Fed EX and ask for the local manager who likely will assist you.

Things happen, DON"T IGNORE THINGS- take action.

Emails, letters etc get set aside. People making a personal appearance get attention.

If this fails, escalate one C level at a time.

You can go the attorney route but then you only get half of your invoice

I forgot that you are a lawyer. Your solution, I am sure, is "Pay me half of what you are owed" and I will look into it for you before sponging off you for a couple of grand more. I just know you guys hate it when we solve problems ourselves like grown ups instead of suing each other.

You can often get attorney's fees in a suit on an open account.

You have been very lucky. You are also clearly not involved in the construction industry with a record like that

Why would they have paid FEDEX if you extended them 30 day terms and what does FEDEX have to say about this? Have you tried to get them involved?

If it were me I would go to that plant everyday and find the operations person and raise holy hell with them until they gave me my money or called the police on me to have me removed from their property.

Take it to their social media and plaster it all over the interwebs.

Shame them into paying. How much is a big international corp.'s rep worth to them after all? Start an all-out media war against them until paid, then post a follow-up, "ty for paying what u owe, at least when pressured to do so".

Many Asian companies and those with Asian ties still consider honor and "saving face". Can get heads to roll at the top of those companies by disgracing them publicly. Can cause Asian companies to sever ties with others over embarrassments too.

ETA: Consumer protection laws cover individuals, persons, NOT businesses. You can name names, make accusations, all kinds of stuff towards a business that is not legal to do against an individual.

2nd ETA: You really wanna get paid and in a hurry? Look up the top execs on Facebook, then look up their WIVES Facebook and start posting about how her husbands company ain't paying the bills. And start posting to all their Facebook personal friends about the company not paying bills. You make it personal to the top of that company and I guarantee you get paid, fast!

We usually get to the deep pocket through the anus. It is more fun that way.
