Lawsuit coming against DCFS, the mom (Whitney Ard) was failed by the system

A group of lawyers said plans are being made to file a lawsuit with a focus on the Department of Children and Family Services following a 2-year-old’s deadly overdose in Baton Rouge.
The lawyers said DCFS failed 2-year-old Mitchell Robinson and his mother Whitney Ard. They point at the agency being underfunded, staff being underpaid, and staff working a case load that is above the national average.

Yeah, I think it was the third time it had happened. Previous times ended up in ER visits which were recorded as overdose symptoms and then not followed up with by DCFS

I mean, DCFS definitely failed. But let's not let that get in the way of personal fricking responsibility either. Your kid died from a fricking overdose on drugs. So if we want to place some blame on DCFS, that's fine. But make sure this woman gets the brunt of it.

When they take the child, they refer the mom to services related to her case. For her, it would have been parenting classes and rehab
