Really? I'm stupid? And you're the one who claims to have no use for a full , free ride though law school? If you didn't get your money's worth, and then some, see my first post in this thread...you are fricking stupid. This comes from one who worked his arse off in law school, paid for it, made partner in a firm by working his arse off, left to do more and sure as hell did...much more...
Yes, you are an idiot. Just think about what you're saying.

You need to stay out of these threads where kids...yes, kids...ask for advice that isn't jaded.
He didn't ask for advice that isn't jaded. He asked for advice.

You are a fricking moron. I hope the profession keeps your dumb arse on the curb where you apparently are.

Your responses are nothing but personal attacks. Is it because you do not know how to respond when people expose the fallacies of your "arguments"?

Did anyone say "don't go" yet? That is my vote.

You are a jaded, close minded little person. Run along and quit pretending you can provide useful advice to those asking for sound guidance . Really, do what you said you'd do awhile back, leave. And don't come back.

Yes, SMU is your best option if you expect to work outside La. I went to law school there and lived it. GL
Lived it, loved it, whatever.
Go Ponies!

My father can attest to this. Loyola now =/= Loyola when he graduated in the early 80s.
Oh I don't doubt that at all. Like I said, not disagreeing, just passing on what I picked up after 3 months in federal court.

Statistics suggest attorneys have a high frequency of alcoholism. You ever seen any evidence of that? Like at 10 pm on a Wednesday?

A free ride at LSU is worth more than $25-30K schollies at Tulane or SMU, plus you are more likely to pass the Bar.

If you are staying in state, and money is any issue at all, go to LSU.

Bumping before I go to bed . Those that offered no advice or bad advice still have a shot.

As someone who chose at the last minute not to go to law school, I enjoy these threads as a vicarious look at the trainwreck I avoided.

Not 100% on this as I don't do IP law, but I would think patent law would be centered in a few large cities and DC. Would be tough to be out in Bunke, LA doing patent law I would assume.
FWIW, Taylor Porter in BR has a guy who does patent law.

It's tough doing any practice in Bunkie, with the 50+ Marksville lawyers on every billboard sucking up all the cases. You might get some pedestrian accidents and slip n falls, from clients who have no car, and thus can't drive over to see Cauberreaux or SuperGlue. Just a few old guys there now.
