Not sure if true (likely not) but a hotel in Texas somewhere kicked Louisiana residents out ... I guess smoking in the rooms thereby setting off sprinklers and having sex on the balconies would do it. (At least that's the rumor)

Seeing the way they are acting here that wouldn't shock me.

One of them took a shite in the middle of the sidewalk right in front of a convenience store across from our hotel. Apparently the guy closed yesterday because he's tired of dealing with them and they were robbing him so someone shite in front of his shop.

ETA: In the InterContinental, they are cooking with hotplates and crock pots setting off alarms

It was when I was craving a cold drink from that store today and found out what happened from our hotel manager.

that FB group has a lot of people complaining about being denied. they're saying insurance companies are saying that housing in LC is inhabitable, so no loss of use

I saw 18 wheeler loads of water pumping into the city lines in some areas yesterday.

SO do they just keep doing that??

Yea I heard that they are saying if you have water but no power the house is habitable so they are denying claims for reimbursement.

State Farm also denied people saying it wasn't a mandatory evacuation.

Slow it seems that maybe people just have no clue what their policy covers/doesn't .. I wonder if they just don't have that coverage?

How was your house -- I can't keep up with all of the reports from people here. Good luck.

(I checked mine yesterday and we don't ... I'll be checking on the cost of adding it sooner rather than later.)

no they have the coverage, but the companies are saying the area is habitable...somehow

some people said that their adjuster said that even if the water was off, that wasn't due to the hurricane directly (it was secondary due to the hurricane affecting something else) so no coverage

Last I heard a person couldn't live without water .. I think I couldn't be a claims adjuster. I'd fudge everything. Everything.

So best option is to have had a tree on your house and cause damage so THEN you could get loss of use ... what a crap situation.

Slow,

It seems that a lot of people are being pressured into signing contracts for free tarps stating that the company then gets the roofing job too. They are using high-pressure tactics to get people to sign. Seems like a good case to null contracts since it was signed under duress. Could be a good business for an esteemed attorney such as yourself to get people out of these predatory contracts.

I noticed yesterday how fast Beauregard Electiric has worked and they just put this out:

quote:

BEAUREGARD ELECTRIC: “On Tuesday, September 1, BECi energized substations and some distribution lines in the north and east sections of its service territory. Some substations in Allen, Vernon, Beauregard and Evangeline Parish have been reenergized. Some distribution lines in New Llano, Pickering, DeRidder and Oberlin have been reenergized. While a number of members in this parish have been restored, others may not depending on the damage to their specific distribution or tap lines. BECi and additional crews continue to work to restore power to all of its members.”

It's impressive what they have done in Moss Bluff and Ragley in such a short time.

It may help to mention we are under boil advisory. Sure, there’s water, but it’s not safe to ingest without power.
