In all fairness, Ukraine has the topography of Kansas so I’m not sure where you’d hide anyway.

You know exactly where to hide if you live there and have been worried about invasion for the past 8 years.

I know some of them personally. Not breaking news, but we use mercs, as lot of retired US, special ops, etc end up being mercs. Or rented out, who knows but they go all over the world and do shite for people etc, they maybe are like spooks and never retire and whole Merc shite maybe cover, who knows, I know better than to ask too many questions.

Many are just too old now, but a few disappear for months at a time to visit their sister in Africa or Asia etc, which they have never mentioned before.

They are free to line up at the back of all of those stalled Russian columns that can't go offroad.

Bringing in mercenaries isn't some diabolically crafty move by Putin. It's because his own soldiers aren't worth a shite and he's desperate enough to pin his hopes on half trained thugs from the middle east.

Right? I don’t know how anyone can hear the news that Putin is bringing in Syrians and other far flung mercenaries and think it’s a good move for Russia.

1. Not that the Ukrainians need anything more to rally around, but bringing an outsider into a family feud doesn’t sit well. See the Hessians of the Revolutionary War.

2. Syrians in the Ukraine are going to stick out like a sore thumb, will have no real military or police keeping function, and are going to quit pretty quick when the locals turn a few of them inside out just for fun.

3. Those Syrians and Africans mercs are much more likely going to take whatever money they get and try to walk themselves into asylum in Europe.

Honestly, you could pay Syrian goons $200/month and they’d probably think that it’s good money. Putin may as well try to train orangutans at this point. What is he even gonna pay them with, shitty devalued rubles?

Easy to offer a them $3000 a week if they don’t survive to collect it. Not a single one will.

That's the great part. Not that their Russian escort would dare let them catch wind of it, but they could very easily go AWOL and actually get paid by the Ukranians just to surrender and leave.

So when are we getting to the elephant in the room, China.

They are about to start sending Putin, weapons, ammo and military supplies , abs still calling this a military operation.

I had been reading this weekend that that they have been very hands off about providing any form of assistance to Russia.

I wouldn’t assume that.

If there is any truth whatsoever of putin requesting weapons from China then... c'mon. Really?
Every military source fell for disinformation about Russian military might? Wow.

Who fan be called on to fight that fight? Chechens and Syrians. They aren't being brought in, necessarily, because Russia absolutely needs the forces. They're there to do the dirty work.

Putin is probably setting up the Syrians and Chechens to take the blame for all the horrors inflicted on Ukraine. He won't be able to keep the Russian population in the dark forever so these units will be his scapegoat domestically even though he's obviously going to use them for the urban combat that will be needed to pacify the major cities.

Welp. I guess he can be added to this year's death pool.

Putin's made several requests to the CCP over the past 2 weeks. They've remained passive.

Interesting thread about Russia's capability to hit convoys in Western Ukraine. TL;DR they don't have the Intel or assets to carry it out. The best they can do is lob missiles at static targets, which they did today. Given the lack of accuracy of their guidance systems, one straying into NATO territory is a matter of when, not if.
