Hell has frozen over since I’ve agreed more times than not with Ilhan Omar these past two weeks. This is a headline from ABC that may be the dumbest headline I’ve ever seen:

quote:

Experts say kids in war zones are at increased risk of anxiety and depression.

Uh, ya think? To which Ilhan responded:

quote:

You don’t say.

War is destructive, it robs people of their lives and their sense of security.

As we acknowledge the harm it does to kids, let’s not forget the kids around the world who survived war or still live in war zones, by only focusing on Ukraine. These are kids too:

I love how Covid made the press think they can put “experts” in front of any headline and it makes it meaningful and insightful.

Just his summary of the events as he sees them. I find them interesting. He’s no authority or inside source on anything though, so feel free to ignore.

I much prefer to get my insights from Guy on Tigerdroppings over Guy on Facebook, but that's just me.

Right. This guy is apparently a war games and war history hobbiest and maybe former press. I think he’s an accountant now. Just something a friend shared that I’ve been following and found interesting.

I think the same could be said for the fb quote posted. Obviously it's by some anonymous guy, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, just like the posts on here. I don't see the problem with someone quoting an interesting take from an outside source, even if it was on *gasp* the facebook.

I have a q for the people in here with some knowledge. Hypothetically, if Putin were taken out (obviously not likely), what immediate effects would take place logistically? Let's say he's taken out by his own people. What happens then? Would there be a power vacuum, are there contenders in place to immediately replace him, do they have a system in place for something like that? Would there be an election, retaliation, etc.? I'm just curious. I've seen a lot of "it would be the end of the world" takes but it would be interesting to know what would probably play out if it did happen. I'm assuming it would change based on who did the killing, if that could even be determined.

No later than March 11, all servers and domains must be transferred to the #Russian zone. In addition, detailed data on the network infrastructure of the sites is being collected.

Yeah, I’ve got a friend in Kharkiv right now, and if she posted anything interesting that we don’t know about, then I’d probably post it here.

I don’t see how anyone could truly answer this question. Totally unpredictable. Putin’s underlings may be even worse than him.

And some of these political pundits are trying to get us all killed. First time I’ve ever done this, but I will defend Antony Blinken here against Chuck Todd who is basically demanding we put up a No Fly Zone over Ukraine: Twitter And then here Todd is later in the program trying to get Joe Manchin to get on board with the No Fly Zone: Twitter And at the same time, here’s George Stephanopolis over at ABC prodding Marco Rubio with the same demand in the disguise of a question where Rubio correctly says that would start WWIII: Twitter Things are fricked if I’m defending Tony Blinken from the press.

Well atleast there is a little bit of common sense on both sides regarding this. A no fly zone would make for good stories and ratings but would also lead to WW3. Of course the media would probably love the ratings from WW3 until the nukes start being exchanged.
