They look and feel authentic to me. Very interesting information, it makes me less bullish on the Ukrainian offensive's chances. Some of these munition levels are very low to sustain a high-velocity offensive
Well, but how much have they been stocking up for the offensive? And most of the latest US package of $2.6 billion was ammo of various kinds. And the EU is trying to get 1 billion Euros of ammo to Ukraine quickly, by reimbursing nations for donations from their own stocks.
For reference, Ukraine used 32,500 artillery rounds in the critical first five days of the Kharkiv offensive. But that was a much, much smaller offensive against an unsuspecting opponent.

Regardless of the veracity of the reportedly leaked documents, which ISW will not speculate on, the response of Russian milbloggers to the New York Times story highlights the fear of prospective Ukrainian counteroffensives pervading the Russian pro-war information space.
I've seen absolutely none of this. I've seen them laughing at the KIA figures and classified documents being leaked

I don't know if "fall" is the right word. Russia has been gradually pushing Ukraine out of Bakhmut, while Ukraine has been conducting an active defense.
Russia already controls most of Bakhmut, and they will likely push Ukraine out of the rest of the city in the next few days.
Come on man, you don't have to spin everything to make Ukraine sound in control of every single outcome. Fall is exactly the right word based on the resources Ukraine has been throwing at it, even as recently as the past couple weeks.

What resources are those?

No spin has been needed for at least 6 months after it was supposed to fall. Even recently, Russians have claimed that it fell completely when it didn't.
I have not seen anyone on here, who supports the DEFENDERS against Russian aggression, being anything but amazed that it has been defended this long.

Even in the Jomini thread I linked in the prior page, Jomini noted that in his February 20th update that he had predicted that Bakhmut would fall by mid-March.
I remember being surprised that Ukraine held it past the anniversary of the invasion and Putin's speech.
Heck, I remember when BKR bet me in the first week of January that Bakhmut would fall within ten days.
Bakhmut isn't very important, as many people have said many times.

Nothing is important as it was when it’s lost. You’re definitely back tracking.

Dude, what are you talking about? I can pull up five months of posts here saying that Bakhmut has no strategic importance.

So, you have no evidence of Ukraine "throwing resources" at Bakhmut.
What you have is a few enthusiasts spinning some troop rotations as reinforcements.

Dude, I don’t care about your posts months ago. It’s also insane to think these cities would be taken by Russia quickly in such a large country when it took the US 20 years in afg without control. It’s been a year and Ukraine will be screwed for its entire future. You also think money isn’t an issue, wait till they have to rebuild. that’s if Russia doesn’t annex it. Then all that money, destruction, and lives lost is definitely not worth it. Then you’ll have Russia even closer to Nato countries which will drag us into war.

Dude, we talked about that when it happened. I'm sorry that you weren't here and don't understand how that was taken out of context.

Dude, you slurped too much propaganda. Enjoy watching more death because of your ignorance.

Your maps don't show terrain and the series of hills. That is where most people, even those like Col. MacGregor, have screwed up. It's not a place for tank charges across from the east. High ground matters. The reason that Russia could even advance to Bakhmut was because Popasna fell in May of last year. Russia was able to advance on the ridge without fire from high ground above it. Even with high ground, it took Russia 11 months to advance 20 miles.

This is false and nobody is expected Russia to storm through this. They are advancing whether you want to admit it or not.

I was just quoting the hero Volodymyr Zelenskyy, don't shoot the messenger. Bakhmut was a fortress if you saw the videos, tens of thousands of troops & waves of trenches all over the city running into the buildings. Once Wagner got into the city, they rolled through it pretty easily. The funniest part is y'all act like Ukraine has the manpower and supplies to keep making these stands but the reality is...they don't.
