Been saying Putin misread Biden. He thought Biden was another Carter or Obama. He figured Joe wrong.

While I don’t believe it had much to do with Biden because I really don’t think he is actually really in control in reality, I legitimately wonder if that wasn’t done on purpose knowing the outcome would be the present “special operation” and allow us to bleed Russia. Clearly the intelligence on the invasion was spot on so is it so far fetched to believe they acted to cause the reaction?

This is not an endorsement of the abortion of a pullout of Afghanistan, which still pisses me off, but an attempt at pragmatic thought trying to understand the actions of long-standing unelected people with immense power.

Possible - yes.

Plausible - not in my humble opinion.

If it did, then I stand corrected. That being said, my memory is based on BoarEd and another poster talking about January 6th on the main board prior to January 6th. If they were banned from the thread, but not the site, then it checks out.

WE found some. We actually know of the modular units which traveled back to Russia or to Syria. These are not some sort of large chemical plant complexes if you know a fricking thing about them. However, most of the idiots think that they cannot be moved. One chem weapon agent process unit can fit inside of a van trailer easily.

Do they hate us for our freedom? Or is it because we did exactly the same thing you've spent the past several months criticizing the Russians for?

A phone conversation with a personal friend who worked from Trump starting in 2011 and on his campaign team. Former active duty Marine who has friends well connected in UKR and Poland.

Edit: Remember how the bridge out of Crimea was shutdown for a bit. Likely not just to slow the evacuation of everyday people but put others ahead.

ISW Update

Russian military leadership is likely increasingly losing confidence in the security of Crimea following recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian military objects in Crimea

quote:

Russian leadership and the Russian nationalist information space have become increasingly invested in framing recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian military assets in Crimea as acts of terrorism in order to shift the information narrative away from Russian violations of international law and calls on the West to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism

quote:

Key Takeaways

Russian military leadership is falsely claiming that recent attacks on Russian military objects in Crimea are terrorist attacks to deflect calls to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Russian forces attempted several unsuccessful assaults near the Kharkiv-Donetsk Oblast border in tactically challenging forest areas.

Russian forces continued to unsuccessfully attack settlements southeast of Siversk.

Russian forces launched several assaults northeast and south of Bakhmut, and are likely attempting to improve tactical positions near Horlivka.

Russian forces made limited gains northwest of Donetsk City and near the Zaporizhia-Donetsk Oblast administrative border.

Russian forces are likely preparing to defend their ground lines of communication (GLOCs) in the Melitopol-Tokmak-Berdyansk triangle by mining settlements on the eastern Zaporizhia Oblast frontline.

Russian federal subjects are continuing to form new volunteer units and advertise contract service while facing recruitment challenges.

Russian occupation authorities are struggling to increase control measures in occupied territories amidst increased partisan activity.
