I don't think anyone has denied that there are people in Ukraine who want to join Russia. But 5900 persons really doesn't mean shite in regards to this.
I don't know who did the analysis but they showed that before 2014 that really wasn't a strong sentiment. After the Civil War started, the sentiment got stronger but namely that was because of the population moving away not because there was a giant change of opinion.

East Ukraine didn’t like the puppet US government put in their country. Which is fair. Ukraine has long been where other countries wash their money. Like what we’re doing.
