Las Vegas Strip properties are now having to resort to holding job fairs to find employees

This is my 2nd time to live in Las Vegas, and if you would have told me 8 years ago my first time living here that strip properties would be holding job fairs I would have laughed at you.
Jobs on the strip like bell, valet, hospitality and dealers historically have been nearly impossible to get without either knowing someone, or greasing the palms of those doing the hiring(known as juicing your way in) which consists of having to pay a lot of money for the job. These jobs have been extremely competitive, and everyone wants to work on the strip, so if you don't know someone or aren't willing to juice in, you have to work your way up by working at the non strip properties, gaining experience and hoping to eventually catch a break. I only was able to work at Planet Hollywood in 2012 as a valet driver because I knew 2 guys who I worked for at a hotel in the DFW area who were running that operation.
The fact these properties are having to resort to job fairs and on the spot hiring should truly let everyone know how bad the employment crisis is getting. I don't even know how all the fast food restaurants around here(all of which plastered with NOW HIRING signs) are making it.

This is the least surprising thing I’ve seen on this site today.

My Uber liberal lesbian boss was finally fired because it had been a year since she worked. They kept asking her to come back but she was too happy just sitting at home collecting UE doing nothing. She didn’t realize they could fire her after a year though, then predictably went to Facebook to say she got let go because there wasn’t enough work for her and how unfair it was.
She’s not my boss anymore so I was able to set the record straight for everyone on there feeling sorry for her.

How lucrative were these jobs that it was so hard or expensive to get that people don’t want that income now?

They still have showgirls in Vegas?
Job fairs for strippers?

Heard on radio as I was running errands that McD's is now paying $50 just to show up for an interview.

People are being paid not to work right now. That's the issue. Covid unemployment needs to be cancelled nationwide ASAP.

Housekeepers and restaurant workers aren’t pulling down more than $800/week, and even positions making $1000/week would rather do nothing than work 40 hours a week for just an extra $200.

Yea. This may come as a shock to many but people are generally lazy and many don't care about upwards mobility as long as their basic needs are met. Nor do they plan for the future.

Yet my brother-in-law is looking for a new job in Dallas that pays at least $55k and he can't find anything. He has a degree in Business and currently makes $50k, been there for 8 yrs and is ready for something new.
Almost like decent jobs are still hard to come by

That's the ONLY conclusion we can make from your story?

I dont believe this Nugget at all
The Casinos were doing everything to avoid giving ppl money
Keeping them on 1 day so they didn't have to give unemployment
My bro is back at his waiter job there and crushing it again

$50 in McNuggets can go a long way.
