Are we even sure Vecna isn't the one controlling all of these "scientists"?

Live from CERN. They just accidentally created a black hole.

Well, pit bulls had a good run.

Sounds like a bunch of made-up quackery to me

That obviously was not the genesis of my post and especially why I chose 6 of the particular words I used but this is still a lazy statement and empirically incorrect. Just the amount of ignorance erased in your profession alone over the last 100 years is incredible. If you had written the statement selecting a portion of society I might be more inclined to agree, but even then it would be a hard statement to support.

It is both charming and strange they found new particles made of quarks. Glad they are on top of it and getting to the bottom of the mysteries of the universe. As our knowledge goes up our ignorance goes down.
I beg to differ. It is both anti-charming and anti-strange they found new anti-particles made of anti-quarks. Glad they are on anti-top of it and getting to the anti-bottom of the mysteries of the universe. As our knowledge goes anti-up our ignorance goes anti-down.

Here is CERN's own article LHCb discovers three new exotic particles
Note that these are not new elementary particles. They are new composite particles made of known elementary particles (quarks and gluons).
Also, it's not like they flipped the machine on today and out popped three new particles today. They run collisions and then analyze data for months at least before being ready to announce.

This is what scientists observed under their electron microscopes
Lol actually not that far off. String theory suggests that if you could zoom in on one of these quarks down to the planck length scale you would see vibrating strings oscillating. Not as nasty as this lovely lady but nonetheless still jiggling around with a consistent steady vibration.

“Like proton or neutrons, the particles that make up the nucleus of the atom, these new particles are made up of quarks”, explained Chris Parkes, Professor of Experimental Particle Physics at The University of Manchester. “However, protons and neutrons are made of three quarks, whereas exotic particles are made of four or five quarks”.
All these scientists are just so quarky

Here is a random thought from someone that has no real background to comment on this..
What is the likelihood that this experiment is the equivalent of me blowing up a building and in the aftermath of the explosion there are pieces of glass inbedded in the sheetrock and I am thinking.. oh wow look we have a whole new exotic building block...

serious question tho...

There will never be a smallest particle. Just another something even smaller with an even goofier name.
