The latest info released as of today.

New Orleans Policed Department spokesman Tyler Gamble said investigators are awaiting toxicology test results, among other information, before considering whether to charge the driver. Police have not named the driver, described as a 30-year-old man, but will do so if he is charged, Gamble has said.

No Charges Yet

Unbelievable
Very, especially with a death involved. Usually cops are at the hospital getting samples and results are done within hours not months. Usually they arrest the person before he's released from the hospital.

Hell, people are arrested for reckless driving and negligence in hospital beds all the time. If you look at the comments in the articles, people are linking previous NOLA.com articles with fatal accidents where drivers are charged and reported on immediately. If more charges need to be given, they are added later.

The writer of the article chose a funny wording to defend herself as well. She said that until they are given information from "the police, the driver's family, or the victim's family", they cannot release the name.

I imagine the victim's family would easily give that..

This guy is probably connected or his attorney got involved early on in the process or something. I have a family member that is a trauma nurse and the arrests for dui can be done literally within hours of the blood/urine samples being drawn.

His picture is easily found on social media. How do we know that the links that people are saying were taken down weren't just broken links that had been that way before the accident?

The guy's bio was on his company's site until very recently.

The larger question is, do I really care.

Likely not.

Exactly. Maybe the girl doesn't even have family our the family she does have doesn't want to make her death into a circus. Respect her and what not, unusual concept these days.

I wonder if there is evidence that she was doing something that caused or contributed to causing the accident.

It's all a bunch of crock! The toxicology screen was complete within less than two hours after the driver's admission to the hospital. He must be very special. I bet the place Kristi worked at knows who he is. If I were her mother and wasn't given this information I would be bat shite crazy looking for him!!!

Her mother will be in a state of shock for about 3 months, but after that... I know, I have been there. It's not pretty and it will be painful beyond comprehension for her.
