It’s been a while, but I used to go with my uncle to fish seabrook Train bridge lights at night.
1) bring your piece and some beers.
2) chat with the brothers and share your beer.
3) you can catch some limits of trout.

Used to shrimp there at night. Got to the point they closed it down after a few boats sank there due to tug boats and big piling getting into the nets.
Trout fishing was off the scales there too!

Friend,
What a wonderful surprise to find this thread and your wonderful included impromptu Top 10 List. Thank you for this contribution and your positive influence upon this enterprise.
Your Top Trout lure reminded me whilst traveling in Wales several years ago, I had occasion to put on the light rain jacket I had packed. Imagine my surprise when I found a stowaway secreted in the jacket’s pocket! Please find following the image of my old reliable friend at Tinturn Abbey’s ruin*:
I hope and trust that you and yours had a wonderful Labor Day, have a nice evening.
Your loyal and humble correspondent I remain
Yours truly,
Mssr. Füt

Friend,
It saddens me to hear of the loss of your beloved Mr. Champ silver spoon. I would like to take the time to inform you of a great alternative I have found. The Johnson Splinter Silver Spoon is a wonderful recreation of the Mr. Champ. I have quite a few of my own. In fact, this weekend, I caught 3 Jack Crevalle and a multitude of Speckled Trout using this very bait in 1/2oz. weight. They can easily be found for sale in many varieties at your local Academy Sports.

Friend,
What a marvelous photo. Is there anything that represents true New Orleans better than a chartreuse cocahoe minnow? It, not the disgusting fleur-de-lis, should represent us. Or perhaps a Time Saver orange triangle.
Thank you for sharing the words of our dear friend in the faith, who wrote near that wonderful Abbey:
Amen. Amen.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

quote:
With lofty thoughts, that neither evil tongues,
Rash judgments, nor the sneers of selfish men,
Nor greetings where no kindness is, nor all
The dreary intercourse of daily life,
Shall e'er prevail against us, or disturb
Our cheerful faith, that all which we behold
Is full of blessings.
Amen. Amen.

It was great, there’d be all kinda characters out there at night 07-08.
The brothers were throwing huge beach poles way out and hauling in big trout.
We’d throw out our standard 6.5 ft and pull in 25 school trout each in an hour and roll out.
Crazy uncle went like every night, I think that’s where he got his grass.

Friend,
I was out there during those years. Mother would drop me off around an hour before sunset and then collect me an hour or two later. Easy limits of trout, but lots of snags.
