Yes. They had them all over at Chenault years ago.

When I was a kid, there were some bomb shelters in a wooded area west of Lake Street and south of Country Club Road (behind Nelson Elementary). We used to ride motorcycles to them from University Place. I was telling my wife about them just last week when we were driving by there on our visit with my parents.

Do you spend a lot of time googling Mckayla Maroney?

There are similar bunkers around the old Belle Chase airfield.

I know for a fact one of those bunkers was used by the government to design and build the airwolf helicopter made famous by Jan Michael Vincent.

Here you go stout. I was in the area today and drove out to the bunkers. They have around 2 foot thick metal doors on them. One still has Atlas wireline stenciled on the bunker. Obviously Atlas was using it to store their explosives whenever they still had an office in LC. If you notice the original paved road that leads to the airbase is still there on the north side of Prien. It looks like it came out somewhere around Mallard Cove.

That's awesome. I was going to drive down there one day too but was curious if I would be trespassing.
