What program?

It’s strange how grown adults that are 10 years or more out of hs still care about where other people went to hs. They’ll legit ask another adult where they went to high school
Why is that strange? It's just a way to find out where someone grew up.

Yeah, I went to Catholic school as a kid, and they pretty much taught us from scripture in not only about not hating people of a certain race, but also in not hating racists. It’s all out of that whole love thy neighbor as thyself and love God with all thy heart part, as well as the love your enemies and pray for them that despitefully use you.
You don’t need to focus on the wrongs of racism when you’re teaching the scriptures. It’s littered throughout the gospels. That being said, reading it or learning it is not going to stop racism. Embracing it and desiring to follow it can, but still people have to accept it into their hearts and follow it, and still people fail at that from time to time. However, there’s no need to speak on racism specifically ad nauseam when you’re speaking out of scriptures as it’s covered from cover to cover.
Kids don’t need to be taught about racism. They need to be taught about God’s perfect love and why we should love as well, because God’s love truly is the only thing that can kill racial hatred, or any hatred for that matter, including hating racists.

My kindergarten has also not specifically come out and condemned surrounding police and throwing bottles at them. If I am to be woke, should I just assume their silence condones it?
Where is the policy?

That explains it
My favorite part of the demands is they demand lower tuition with no thought to the fact that the school is a business and needs money to actually run.
The Facebook profiles of some of the people involved are pure gold.

How much you wanna bet scholarships aren't awarded equally on basis of race?
How much you wanna bet there are white kids with way better scores and grades paying tuition, while blacks with lesser scores get a free ride?
I mean, we are for equality correct?
That’s not how tuition assistance works at Catholic schools. It’s not merit based. It’s based on financial status. If your parents make below a certain amount of income, you qualify for tuition assistance.

I have a friend that very nearly lost his job over a Facebook post on a university website that said "Jesus thought ALL Lives Mattered and that's how I try to live my life, like Jesus lived his. Also, I'll never kneel for the anthem."
That was his quote. It was reported to the University that then notified the company listed as his employer, which is where things got a bit complicated but I'll leave it at that. Ultimately, he didn't lose his job but he definitely had to answer for it.
To me, it was the final straw that caused me to delete my social media. My point, is that they need to be careful. Black LIves Matter or silence is really their only 2 choices in this crazy world without pissing people off and option #2 will still piss some off, seen by the original message.

This is their one and only example of "racism" at the school.
Oh, and gotta love this demand of theirs:
quote:
13. During her time at St. Louis, Kristen Broussard (class of 2009) and her classmates were penalized by peacefully protesting while at school. Kristen and her friends were wearing black undershirts to peacefully protest the treatment of the Jena 6 and were threatened with punishments--despite the fact that their actions were in no way disruptive to student learning and bravely drew attention to injustice. This was not an isolated issue but one of many such experiences sanctioned by school policy.
Oh, and gotta love this demand of theirs:
quote:
10. Remove police school resource officers from school grounds and events

Exactly. I don't particularly care where someone went to high school unless they are in the same neighborhood age wise, or the same age as me. For example, there is a guy that works here with me, who is from a town 10 minutes from where I grew up. A town that sends most kids to school at the high school where i go or another that we play in sports. He and I are the same age, and somehow, we never knew each other. So I finally asked him the other day, hey you are from ...., where did you go to high school? This was asked simply because I was trying to figure out how we didn't know each other. Come to find out, we played against each other in sports, he dated and married a girl I knew, and knew several of my friends. Harmless conversation, the point of was to get to know someone.
