Idk… where she’s from I wouldn’t doubt it’s real. I went to ULM (was actually there for a year or two when Lainey was I think, but never ran into her) with a lot of people from the sticks of Nela and a lot had insanely thick accents like that.

I’m sure she would, she’s ramped up her accent for the last several years to where I’m sure it’s “real” now.
But there’s a video in this thread showing how she ramped it up sometime in the last 8 years.
You aren’t the only person that’s been to Baskin baw. And I’ve got about 10% of her real accent and I still get the “oh my god where are you from…” she ain’t hiding that no matter how hard she tries.

Hpw does she sound now because I’ve known a ton of girls that sound exactly like how she talked 8 years ago. You could be in western Kentucky and hear that same accent

It appears that’s the case, but there’s timeline doesn’t even really line up. She would have been 21 in 2014, released an album the same year, and definitely moved to Nashville well before that. I suppose she could have gone online, but hard to go to school online and graduate early
