LaFourche Parish legal question
Are any of you involved with a trial scheduled for the end of this month in LaFourche Parish or have knowledge about the issue? Upon my understanding a major oil company has allegedly constructed and is operating a pipeline across properties belonging to multiple owners without their authorization.

I would love to read up on this story if anyone has a link either now or after the trial.
The majors will usually do a risk review and have their legal folks go through things pretty good before just doing something silly like this.

Is my understanding correct? Who are the parties involved? What is the legal issue here? When does the trial start? What do the plaintiffs hope to gain?

I am asking because I may have a similar situation that may require a judicial ruling at some point. Many thanks.

Sure, Mick, I am not a lawyer, only someone who is curious about the case. I would not want you or anyone to disclose anything that would make you uncomfortable.

What is it that makes a non-real lawyer a real lawyer?

What is the difference between an idiot and a complete idiot?

Please explain.

Seemingly so. I know of a few instances where the stupidity was traced back to the land man or attorney who did the title research incompletely.
I think that the majors would explore settlement if it questionable but maybe they have the assets and can prove the burden of Acquisitive Prescription.
