Remember these:

Shakey's Pizza on Abbeville Hwy

Judice Inn when it was the first thing you came to when traveling north from Maurice

Walking into the Keg in Sept of 1967 thinking I was in heaven due to the quarter bud 14 Oz draft beer

Selling my blood ($7.50) so I could drink more
of that quarter draft beer

Stealing barstools from The Keg for dorm room at USL

Stump Gallery bar between blood center and Johnston

Hopper's sundaes

Trying to pickup girls on the "Hotline"

The wire cash transfer system at the old stores in downtown Lafayette-they would clip the change onto a clothes line and zip it down to the first floor.

You go back further than me, haze. I didn't start hanging out on the strip till 77. Brass Rail and quarter rot-gut bourbon and cokes on friday afternoons were my choice. Later in the night, I'd be sure to eat one of the burgers and fries.

I went to USL from 67-72

Whenever I drive thru Lafayette from Houston I stop at Deano's for my pizza fix.

Youngblood's Fried chicken retaurant was next to the Twin Drive in

Listening to Pugy Moity on sunday mornings during governor's election drinking flat, hot beer from the previous night

LeGros, I know of an airstrip named after you. Coincidence? Or are you from that area?

Clarence Cochon, the Easter Pig......brings back funny memories. Can't recall what business he represented, though.

How about newsguys Jim Baronet (had a relationship with Maria Placer) or Pat Flanigan.

Dad used to bring me to Blackham to watch Andrew Toney light it up for USL basketball.

Who remembers when KSMB was album-oriented rock (prior to "hit radio")?

Anyone ever watch "Da Brain Drain" on Friday nights with Quasi-Boudreaux (a hunchback charachter who was in a local studio, doing fill-in, in a Friday night videos format)?

Yeah, that happened when I was in Jr. High. Everyone hated i, which makes me wonder why they changed it.

Happened in early high school for me. One day you would get a double shot of Ozzy, then all of a sudden they are playing Madonna.

Remember the green K94 bumper stickers.

How bout the Dr. Demento show on 99.9 KTDY on Sunday nights, about 10 pm? IIRC it was a syndicated program from somewhere else. Played all kinds of kooky stuff. That's where I first heard Weird Al Yankovic (not that that's any kind of life milestone or anything).

I remember the old 94 and a half KS-M-Beeeee

they used to have the Acadiana's Top 40 on friday afternoons from 3-7pm

Dr Demento was cool on 99.9, he still does the show but no one in Lafayette has syndicated it for a long time so you have to listen online:

I still have one of those that has not been used. I had one on my old black T/A for long after it switched formats.

I also remember when Novasad used to be pretty funny.

There was this older kid on my street (Don I think) that covered the hood of his car with those stickers. They made a nice cover for all the rust. They didn't hold too well and the corners started to peel up on all the corners and would flap around while he was driving.

Yeah, I went to ADS. They always had us selling tickets for it, kind of like the magazine selling contests they have now.

The Battle Ball (basically dodge ball with no rules) court brings back many fond memories. I passed by there about a year ago and the old playground looks like a theme park now.
