The Evangeline Thruway, mostly. There's also some pockets between Lafayette and New Iberia that aren't Interstate quality yet but they have made a lot of progress on that since the late 2000's.

Correct. Many people thonk this is one massive project. Intersection by intersection, it is already being done. Tue swction though Lafayette will however be the single largest portion of the project money wise.
TheCurrent is very left leaning and is very much against the elevated portion through Lafayette. They would want nothing more than it being a simple two lane road lined with multi-use sidewalks, bike lanes. crosswalks and flowers.

There’s basically a handful of stretches that still need to be upgraded: Lafayette to Broussard, Patterson to Morgan City, and Des Allemonds to Avondale.

The article states the $2.5b price tag. And only $250m the state can allocate and taking 10 years of no other funding. So it the $2.5b the states portion of the costs or did the articles author not include the 80% federal match?

I’m sure all that casino and lottery tax revenue will kick in any day now to fully fund it. If Louisiana legalizes marijuana it will be completed in 3 or 4 months I’m sure.
