Go lab grown. It’s the same thing. Literally the same thing. It’s a diamond.

Tell her though. shite, maybe ask her.

Lab produced diamonds are far more ethical, less negative social and ecological impacts, which many women will appreciate.

I have my grandmother's antique hand cut diamond jewelry but personally I prefer lab produced for a new gift for the above reason. I think spending thousands of dollars on diamonds mined from war torn countries in Africa is not romantic at all.

supposedly you can't tell.

The normal person can't, just looking at them. Someone doing an inspection/appraisal of one generally can. Not to say there aren't some that are remarkably close.

They are a great innovation though. I know some friends that went the lab grown route and the rings look fantastic.

CZ is not a diamond

Lab diamond is a diamond

They are chemically identical. A diamond jew cant tell difference.

According to Forbes:

In the engagement ring segment, lab-grown diamonds now make up about half of all stones purchased in the U.S. and similar markets—meaning lab-grown are equal to or exceeding mined diamonds in that category.

Nope

Could only tell because a legally obtained mined diamond will have an etching on it

I mean I guess it depends on the girls preference and their financial situation.

They are legit diamonds just lab grown and they actually look better than "real" diamonds.

Personally I would recommend a quality lab grown diamond but to each their own.

Natural diamonds might retain 20-60% of their value while lab diamonds often drop to 10-40% of their original price, sometimes lower. Either way he's getting bent over, I'd just ask her what she prefers because she will eventually find out.

You can't say Nope and then give a way that someone doing an inspection can tell

The fluourescent testing and the growth pattern inspections also can tell the difference.

There are some benefits of having a natural one as it will have a long term value compared to the lab grown one, but it is also much more expensive.
Wrong. Natural diamonds values are plummeting bc consumers are shifting to lab in very very large numbers. The gig on Debeers control over the value of diamonds is almost up.

In what way does that dispute my claim? The natural diamond still holds more value long term than the lab one.

Which is absolutely stupid. The lab grown product is both superior in quality AND cheaper to purchase.

Which is what reveals the truth about this whole thing and why the diamond market exists in its current state in the first place - buying your lady a diamond is all about you proving how much you are willing to suffer for her happiness OR if you're rich, providing her with the means to flex on her peers.

It doesn't REALLY matter what it is or what the quality is or whatever. All that matters is the socially perceived value of the item. No sane human would actually spend the money that a natural flawless diamond costs when a chemically identical flawless diamond can be had for FAR less money. The problem is you need to spend the mountain of money on the lady, and the actual product itself does not matter as much as the bottom line on the invoice being as large as possible.

Lab-grown diamonds are significantly cheaper than mined diamonds, often costing 70-90% less, allowing consumers to buy larger stones for the same price; for example, a 1-carat high-quality lab diamond might cost around $1,000-$3,000, while a similar natural diamond costs $4,000-$8,000+, with the price gap widening dramatically for larger carats, where a 3-carat lab diamond could be under $4,000 compared to $50,000+ for a natural one.
