The state of Louisiana creating an app?
Oh boy this will be good.
Maybe by 2030 we will be on par with 2018 standards

This is going to come way out of left field, but you may have answered your own question.

how does saying "we'll send an email when its ready" answer the question of "what is causing the delay?" dumbass

nah, they actually outsourced the app development, although the integration of it into the computer systems is probably their fault and the cause of the delay

She's scheduled to go on another 2.5 hour bus ride around the DMV to investigate the blight in their computers.

i went to the website in early May and there was a link to the app store for the app and it was dead. then they removed the link and said to subscribe to an email list and they would let us know when the app was ready.

Odd. I met a friend of this app's owner at WalkOns earlier this year. He showed us and the bartender the app and how it worked.
Seemed like it was going to be legit for ID as far as police were concerned.

Im my experience (in urban Texas), this is done on every stop before they step out.

Even had cops tell me to put my information away because they had already validated it, they just wanted to see my ID.

You must look innocent as frick because most cops I know want to get up to your vehicle ASAP before you start hiding shite or acting sketchy. If they sat back and ran all your info before coming to the window you’re a non-threatening looking dude.

That’s old school thinking.

They have patrol cars here with roof top cameras that can scan cars as they drive by for expired tags, active warrants, etc.

I can’t imagine ATC is cool with bars using this for patrons

Just take a picture of your driver's license and keep it on your smartphone. I've watched enough Live PD to know this will suffice

I've done this and even had banks accept it.

I'm pretty sure cops can no longer scan drivers license plates. They never should have been able to.

No, it doesn't seem so.

quote:

“State Police requested a “hands-off” and “no-touch” procedure that would not require them to hold a driver’s phone. "

Additionally, on Apple iOS devices, it has a mode called Guided Access. If you set it up, open the LA ID app, and activate Guided Access, the cop would be locked to the LA ID app. No snooping on anything else.

The app launched today or sometime recently. Free to download, but $5.99 in app purchase to gain access to your license. It will last until your license expires.

I bought it just incase I ever lose my wallet or something. It's not showing the hunting or fishing endorsements yet, but they replied to my e mail that a fix is already in and will be implemented next week.

Take a picture of you DL and keep it on your phone.

And while you're at it, take one of your hunting/fishing licenses too.

That is cool. I was not aware of that. But, yes. When State Police, the state attorney, OMV, and our design team were in one office, we worked out the "hands-off" / "no-touch" policy at the request of state police.

We, the app developers, are consulting with both the Libertarian Party and...wait for it...the local ACLU for the next release of the app. We are all concerned with privacy and the 4th amendment to the Constitution in a digital world.

I really cannot imagine Lewzianer doing anything this advanced.

The app is called La Wallet. But it will surely be half assed...like all other Lewzianer stuff.

Did I, at any point when applying for a license, agree to have its details shared with a third party ? Legit question..If you guys have access to a state database, should we not be concerned with our privacy and protection ?
