Hi. No data goes to China or anywhere else. It was made in Hammond, LA by a bunch of locals.

Did I, at any point when applying for a license, agree to have its details shared with a third party? Legit question..If you guys have access to a state database, should we not be concerned with our privacy and protection?

I do not believe you agreed to have your details shared with a third-party and it has not been shared with a third-party.

If you read the Terms and Conditions which you have to agree to before you use the app, you will see that app is transparent. The app only communicates with the state's systems AFTER you have accepted the terms and conditions and AFTER you have entered your license information to the app. It stores no other information about you other than what you have entered in the app, no GPS, no fingerprints.

Our software development practices are also reviewed every year by a QSA and we submit ourselves to the same audit level that Walmart does.

We also want our citizens to drive the next set of features we add to the app. You can do that over at https://feedback.lawallet.com

I can’t imagine ATC is cool with bars using this for patrons

Hi. Actually, we have been in two talks with the ATC and will have a public statement available from them. They have expressed approval in recognizing the LA Wallet as a legal form of identification when checking for age-related purchases. Of course, TSA is the "Holy Grail" of adoption, right?

Guided Access

That is cool. I was not aware of that. But, yes. When State Police, the state attorney, OMV, and our design team were in one office, we worked out the "hands-off" / "no-touch" policy at the request of state police.

We, the app developers, are consulting with both the Libertarian Party and...wait for it...the local ACLU for the next release of the app. We are all concerned with privacy and the 4th amendment to the Constitution in a digital world.
