2 men accused of stealing ribs from Walmart arrested after police chase

Two men are in custody after reportedly shoplifting from a Shreveport business then leading Louisiana State Police on a chase.

It happened just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Walmart on Shreveport Barksdale Highway.

According to LSP, a trooper dressed in plain clothes saw employees chasing the men out of Walmart. The suspects then reportedly got into a red pickup truck and fled the scene.

The trooper followed the suspects’ vehicle while calling for backup. But, wound up losing sight of the pickup.

Soon thereafter, other troopers and Shreveport police joined in the search. The two men believed to have been involved were eventually taken into custody.

Information from the scene suggests the men stole ribs and other meat from Walmart.

No names have been released at this time. The crime remains under investigation.
