Alaska is a huge outlier for everything. Check out the suicide rates, depression rates, and alcohol rates.
That being said, I don't agree that it's a race thing. Poor/uneducated thing probably.

I notice the Democratic strongholds (those with zomg violent minorities) tend to be toward the bottom of the list.
