So how does it know if you are driving or riding?
Who gives a frick. Turn it off, we'll be fine.

Poor people/older vehicles.
You don't have to answer the phone.

They need to shut off text features while cars are in motion or something
But what if you’re a passenger and/or need to call 911 for some reason?

I said block texting, not calling. Also, they could easily just say 911 gets an exemption. Can you even text 911?
And what did we do before texting? Geez people. You don't need to always been on your fricking phones.
I am sure more lives will be saved from not allowing texting in moving vehicles than would be lost from not being able to text 911 in moving vehicles
ETA:
Ok so here is CatfishJohn's angry old man solution to young punks texting and driving:
- Block texts from phones moving over 30 mph
- Exception made for emergency numbers
- Require new vehicles to have bluetooth and voice to text functions
And worst case, you punks can use your phone to actually call someone from the passenger seat. And you know, talk to another human instead of texting.

How long ago did La ban littering?
Yeah, that's my point.
Yeah, that's my point.

Depending on which car stereo you have (I have a Kenwood), you can connect two different phones to it.

Wouldn’t you think that the obvious answer is to enforce the laws on the books that cause detrimental effects to society rather than abandon putting laws on the books all together because they aren’t enforced?

Can they also do this in public too? Because I really enjoy listening to Shanice’s friend’s story about how her baby daddy fricked that bitch from up the road on speakerphone while I’m pushing my three year old in the basket grocery shopping at Winn Dixie.

Well, there’s simply no law that will prevent people from making a spectacle out of every single thing they do in life, bringing attention to themselves in all of what they do. All I think that is reasonable is to expect them to at least be paying attention to the road and cars around them and in front of them when driving. That’s a very reasonable expectation.

This will definitely stop people from using their phone while driving. They were only using their phones because the legislature previously allowed it.
