Thanks. I found another article quoting that as well. It also said his wife's Instagram account is now set to private.

From MSB post...DAMN

quote:

12:35 PM PT -- Kobe's daughter Gianna Maria -- aka GiGi -- was also on board the helicopter and died in the crash ... reps for Kobe tell TMZ Sports. She was 13. We're told they were on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the crash occurred. The Academy is in nearby Thousand Oaks.

The Sheriff's report is that "His wife Vanessa Bryant was not on the plane." No mention of who was on the plane besides Kobe and his pilot.

S-76 requires 2 pilots, so 2 of the daughters wouldnt be there
From what I just read it could be piloted by 1 pilot under VFR. Obviously the fog may have affected that.

Apparently witnesses said they heard the engine sputtering before it went down.

Single pilot IFR is legal in the S76B when flying under Part 91 (owner operator). But he may have had 2 pilots. No one knows yet and I’ll wait to see what the authorities say about the others on board.

That's a damn shame for that family. Losing a husband and daughter or sister and dad in a matter of minutes.

Just saw that on TMZ, as well. Gosh, what a nightmare for his wife and family.

Kobe's dad's (former NBA player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant) wiki page shows that Kobe is also survived by his parents and two sisters.

quote:

Bryant is married to Pam Cox, sister of former NBA player Chubby Cox. They have two daughters and one son: Sharia, Shaya, and Kobe. Kobe had won five NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also is the uncle of professional basketball player John Cox IV. On January 26, 2020 his son Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash with 4 others.

It is hard to figure out the accurate news with all the reporters rushing to be first. The report of daughters on the helicopter that was made on the radio is now being pulled back as unconfirm.

They can auto rotate, at least gives them a chance(depending on the nature of the malfunction.)

He's 7 months younger than me. I don't know if I'd call this the prime of life like a previous poster but it definitely isn't old. Life cut way too short.
