Bundy

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned wrestling legend King Kong Bundy passed away this afternoon.

Bundy’s longtime friend David Herro made the announcement on Facebook writing, “Today we lost a Legend and a man I consider family. Rest in Peace Chris. We love you. Thank you for believing in me.”

Herro tells us he confirmed Bundy’s passing with the wrestler’s family, who asked him to make a post on Facebook letting people know.

Bundy most famously wrestled in the main event of WrestleMania 2 against Hulk Hogan.

No word at this time on the wrestler’s cause of death.

He was 61-years-old.

He is the inspiration for the Bundy name in Married With Children. The show's creator is a big wrestling fan.

One thing is sure these guys sacrificed their bodies for the entertainment of millions. I believe most of them are gone now and the ones that are still alive aren't doing so well. As a long time Mid South Wrastling fan RIP Chris AKA King Kong Bundy.

It takes a toll on your body over the years for sure, and back then they'd have these guys doing shows everyday and twice on weekends. My cousin used to wrestle and he'd always tell me "Yeah it's predetermined, but a fall from 6 feet is still a fall from 6 feet." he got out when he started feeling himself getting hooked on pain killers.

I always wanted him to fight Butterbean or Tank Abbot but they were all different ages.
