Well I know people are always looking for reasons to hate on people, but this was a story of something positive. Something the OT needs from time to time..

Is this good or bad? It’s bad during National Anthem, good during funeral processions and necessary at the name of Jesus (but Protestants protest when at a Catholic Mass because they will not bow and choose to sit instead). This is all very confusing and situational dependent, i suppose.

I actually think these kids were doing it as a major sign of respect. I still pull to the side of the road and stop when passing a funeral procession, but that seems to be a thing of the past for most.

There's a leader in that group of kids somewhere.
He called it, others listened.

Good for him.

I'm just glad that black people are allowed to kneel without white people getting triggered about it for once.

When the kneeling is done as a show of respect and not disrespect, why should us whites be triggered.

Good for them, and this will only reinforce in their minds that their actions of respect do have an impact.

Washington Parish gets a bad rap as drugs, poverty and racial tension are usually the only time it is found in the news. There are a lot of good, honest hardworking people up there.

I really wish a poster from the area could go put up new nets and donate a few nice basketballs to a youth group up there. I would def contribute to that.

But I think I played basketball on the court and I old as dirt. Somebody send those boys some new nets and balls.

We played ball on those courts back in the late 80s/early 90s...we went years without nets

Also that article says Junior High right....IIRC that is actually Elementary and the Junior High (which was the HS a way long time ago) is across Main St.....right?

been a long time since I've been there. may even have to drive through next time I'm home. my dad was from there and my grandparents house right there on main street. practically grew up there... had a big giant magnolia tree on side the house we would climb and chuck those grenade looking things at 18 wheelers going down main.. no worries, we never hit one that i can remember anyhow. had some good times in early child hood around there, haven't been back since probably 8th grade

Yeah it’s the old elementary, the new one is out by the high school and if the property tax passes the junior high is going out there to.
