I’ve always thought it was backwards that if you’re not wearing a seatbelt you’ll get pulled over and get a ticket, but we can cram 40 kids in a school bus and not have a belt on them at all.

Requiring seat belts in cars/private vehicles = regulations on a private industry, the costs of which are passed down to consumers.

Requiring seat belts in school buses would cause a ton of retrofitting expenses for which a school board would presumably be on the hook.

Follow the money

Who didn't go flying into the roof when the bus flipped in the video in the op? I'll await your answer...
And how injured would you think a person broadsided by a mustang running a traffic light and speeding so fast it knocked a school bus over would be in a passenger car?

Well, you’re comparing a bus to a car in an accident....

If 2 busses hit each other, do those in the busses fair better than if 2 modern passenger cars hit each other?

Of course the bus is going to win against a car. That doesn’t mean the bus is safer than the car. It just means the bus has WAYYYY more mass than the car.

With that kind of logic, a 1950s truck is safer than a 2020 tiny sports car.

This is the type of Videos Gordon watches instead of porn. He is rubbing one out to this at least twice a day.

I'm trying to picture the hit from the car.

I've been on a bus hit from behind by a car and it's like you going up to a car and kicking it.

I guess with the ice and a t-bone? is what caused this.

That's part of the reasoning for seatbelts, to keep the driver in position to stay in control of the vehicle.

The fact that states still fight against retrofitting school busses with seatbelts due to cost is insane to me.
Solution: drive your children to and from school. Plus, look a at the big check all these parents are finna cash from the district. Bussing is like playing the lottery almost.

I've always figured that the reason school buses do not have seat belts is for ease and speed of evacuation. A bus load of little kids stuck in their seat belts is going to be a hell of a nightmare to clear if smoke or fire is involved.
