morning bump, we dosed her up good before bed, she woke up still with a 103 fever this morning. not sure why the fever is continuing this long.

If it was my baby, may Lake after hours or ER. That is way to long going with high fever. Hate to see the little ones in that shape.

an aftercare nurse just called me back, she thinks the steady fever isn't anything unusual, says it could be up to 5-7 days for virus to run its course. It's been since Sunday/Monday so maybe give it another 2 days.

It's usually about that long. Really it just depends on how she is acting and drinking. If she is tired and won't really wake up or not drinking, bring her in.

thanks for your help... what sucks is being told she's still contagious and tomorrow is thanksgiving and i know there's other small babies that will be there... even though nobody else in our house has caught anything from her yet, small children included.

how old is she? we had something similar on my son, he's only like 15 months but the fever lasted about 2 days, then got a rash

I agree. My daughter had a fever over 3 days, seemed like the common cold she'd had many times before. Finally in day 3 she was completely lethargic and we couldn't calm the cough. Took her to the doctor, turns out it developed into a small amount of pneumonia that quick. Not sure if fifths/parvo can mutate to something else, but just sharing my experience. Hope your girl gets better, nerve wracking.
