I don't think the kid is a total prick for throwing the ball. I don't think he ever imagined the results would be that "bad". He is a prick for not going help her. That's a pretty bad spill.

I'm not saying he's a good guy for it. Just saying at ~12 years old, I could see horsing around and doing something stupid like that and not realizing the consequences. Looking back on the stupid things we did as kids, I'm surprised we didn't hurt each other more. We never had an intent to hurt each other. We just didn't realize how bad it could have turned out. I do think he's a little shite for doing it, but I don't think his intention was to make a girl face plant in concrete.
Now not apologizing profusely and not helping her out when she is obviously hurt makes him a total prick.

Get that kid a football in his hands and see what he can do, he lead the bike like a boss. The ball was placed right where it needed to be.
