Never pay near MSRP for any vehicle.

But the ot loves to overpay.

Then you've never purchased a highly demanded vehicle.

Did that a couple weeks ago and was disappointed in the way it drove and the cheapness of some of the interior buttons and knobs. Felt like they would break or fall off in my hand. Ride was good but not great compared to other suvs in its class.

You drove a Honda Pilot, Chevy Traverse, Subaru Ascent, Ford Explorer...and this was your conclusion

All of the tellurides are above MSRP in the PNW. Oddly enough the Palisades are being sold below MSRP. Not as popular up here for some reason. Weird.

Until they start putting more out, you might as well wait. My buddy works at a Hyundai dealership and told me that the new Pallisade's are going for 3-5k over MSRP and the Kia Tellurides are going even higher (at least around here in Birmingham) because so many people are wanting them.

No offense to any of y'all that fall into this category, but anybody that would pay above MSRP for a mother fricking Kia or Hyundai or any mass produced car might be at the highest level of dumbass.

Just fly out to Korea and get you one fresh out the factory. The Koreans would be proud to sell you one!

You are so right, rather than pay market price for the vehicle you really want, it is so much smarter to spend the money on a vehicle you don't want because you can get it for less than MSRP.

Yep, I am right.

But out of all the minivans pretending to be SUVs, if your wife really prefers the Kia over all the other brands, 18 months from now there will be plenty of lease turn-ins available for $10,000-$15,000 under MSRP instead of $5,000 over MSRP.

You'll be waiting a while on a hot product. Dealerships don't make the profit margins they did 10 years ago. When they have a hot product that they can make a good profit on they are going to ride that wave to the end. Your approach works on volume units not on HOT!! Limited inventory vehicles.

Kia in covington just closed up shop, so even though the car is hot id use that to get a cheaper price.

It pisses me off that my favorite place in the world has a shitty car with the same name. On that basis alone I won’t ever get into one.
